You could try any of these strategies, I suggest you just test them and adapt them to your needs. But I noticed two things in what you say that are absolutely red flags to me:
1) seriously, if your equity drops to half, you need to learn how to test strategies before you implement them on a real account. This statement is also indicative of the fact that you really don’t understand risk management, so do a search on that and study it.

Really, you could adjust many of the strategies shown here to that timeframe, time zone. The size of the portfolio is fairly irrelevant, unless you’re expecting to make big bucks out of $100, which is certainly won’t. Probably best to start off on a demo anyway, and play around with strategies like the Bladerunner.

I haven’t personally used any strategy at all on a one minute chart, to the extent that I could say I have back tested it. You’d have to give that a try yourself. If you’re looking for a good scalping strategy and you are able to trade around the time of the London close, I suggest doing a search on this site for my review of the London Close Strategy by Shirley Hudson and Vic Noble.

Hello Ranx, you’ll need to be more specific if I’m to help you. Which strategy were you going to start on, and which parameters were you in doubt about? Keep in mind that there is only a certain amount of information I can fit into a blog post: to cover every parameter over every timeframe, every forex session etc. would require an entire course, and I’m unable to provide such at present.

Hey there! I have been reading a lot of strategies these last few months and I’ve started the Forex Pro practice account to get familiar with strategies and reactions. I configure all my charts with boll bands at 15 minutes. What I’ve been doing is paying attention to bottlenecks and placing horizontal support and resistance lines at each trade to chase an objective and to avoid losing too much, the thing is that till now I’ve haven’t had much success, I’m believing that support and resistance lines don’t act very well in a 15 min term. I’ve also activated alerts with CCI RSI long/short of strategy center because back tested shows a good accuracy in starting points and I’ve seen that using some technical analysis to know where to set the goal, it can be very fruitful, but haven’t had much success =(, any suggestons? my zone is mountain time (-7) Best regards!

It’s good that you’re aware of your time zone, and you should always factor that into your trading: what scheduled news announcements occur around that time, what is the general liquidity in the currency pairs your trading likely to be during the time of day that you will be trading and so on.
I know it’s a bit of a shameless plug for the site, but I would suggest that you have a look at the 10 best forex strategies we cover here. Read through them to get a general understanding, and perhaps choose one or two that you like and try trading them on a demo account. As with all strategies/systems/ideas, you will have to adapt them to your own unique circumstances, but they are a good place to start.

My best strategy will be different to your best strategy, so I really don’t see the point. Everything I teach on the site revolves around a trader investigating strategies that may or may not be a good fit for them personally, finding one (or several) that seem to be a good fit, and then live testing them to verify that they are a good fit. It all depends on your time zone, hours available to trade, risk profile and so on.
My manual trading strategy, for what it’s worth, is based roughly around a fusion of the Bladerunner, Bladerunner crossover, forex fractal and just plain old PRICE ACTION.

That’s an incredibly wide question LOL!
You really need to define your needs and current circumstances a lot more before I could give any kind of meaningful answer. As for automating strategies, I’m no longer much of a believer in this, although I continue to experiment with various prospects. For many years I’ve been trying to find an automated strategy that could be trusted to perform over the longer term, but failed. That’s why I am currently more interested in the idea of forex trading signals services: you still get the benefit of “making money while you sleep” without having to rely on unthinking automated software.

In my experience there is simply no substitute for a manual system that is tailored to YOUR UNIQUE SITUATION. Almost impossible to achieve with automated trading, at least with respect to the fine-tuning aspects.
I would like a strategy that works for 15 min - 1hr time frames. My Portfoilo is $100. I usually trade around London but it would be nice to find one that works for the Asian session.
I’d suggest the Bladerunner/Bladerunner Reversal/London Hammer strategies to start with. Plentry for you in those applied to the times you want to trade.

I like the strategies listed but I didn’t really see much in the way of price action or using the news as a driver for movement. I’m a huge believer in both of these styles of trading and would encourage new traders learn a little bit about them.
I totally agree, which if you have time to read the rest of the site beyond this page you will quickly see. I always emphasise things like fundamentals, time of day, current market sentiment as well as raw price action. Selecting a trading strategy is like selecting a new car: the car can either get you from A to B or it can kill you, depending on how you drive it. How you drive it is largely dependent upon how well you pay attention to things like current conditions, risk management etc.

The strategy with the highest win rate that I have heard of is the London Close Strategy:
Unfortunately for me the London close occurs when I’m sleeping, so I only traded this strategy for a relatively short period. However, I was very impressed with its accuracy. At the time its authors were claiming around 90% win rate, although I think that “baskets” particular trades.
Is there any decent auto traders that one can use? I’ve been looking at FAPTurbo but not sure I really want a bot managing my money. I’ve have my own basic strategy. I funded an account with $100 and it’s up to $500 in 4 months.
Not that I am aware of. The whole deal with forex robots has gotten pretty quiet in the last few years, particularly after the GFC struck. These days it seems, it’s just very very difficult to get consistency with them in such a volatile market. That said, I haven’t been keeping up with forex robots very much so maybe you will find something, but I don’t know of any.

I’ve been trading a while now and interested in trying out some of your strategies in demo, what would you suggest for NZ time trading Aus, Asian and London opening around the 1h and 4h timeframes.
Try the Bladerunners, mixed with the Fractal strategy, and look for breakouts after the open of Singapore. I trade a similar time myself, but rarely bother with anything before Singapore opens. There’s just not enough liquidity to give reliability before then, I find, although with experience you can spot the signs and pick up the occasional good exception to the rule.

This might be a long shot, but do you have any strategies you may recommend that would qualify as scalping, say on the 1., 5 or 15 minute charts. I have a long term strategy that works reasonably well but having trouble with finding a scalping strategy.
I’m looking for something that can work anytime, due to the fact that I run my own business, am an employee and go to school, so when I sit down I don’t have usually more than 1-2 hours at most to monitor the trades.
I don’t have any specific strategies that I could recommend, apart from the London close trade, but that is restricted to the London close timeframe. I did do some extensive experimentation a couple of years ago with trading off the Paleo levels on the five-minute chart, sometimes using the one minute chart for entries and exits. What you need to do is restrict your trading to a time when there is plenty of liquidity, know what the fundamentals and sentimentals are for the pair/pairs you are trading, and only trade in the direction that they indicate. I used the polarity indicator to assist me with determining the technical trend. It’s a fairly intense mode of trading, but if you have 1 to 2 hours TOTALLY UN-INTERRUPTED in which you can concentrate fully on the market, it’s certainly something worth looking into.

Hi Rob, the best advice I can give would be to just read through the site itself, beginning with the Start Here tab. Then I would strongly suggest you get on the general email list at least, by clicking on the “Stop Losing Right Now” image in the right-hand column. After that you can try any of the other things like the 10 Best Trading Strategies email list. All of these lists entail a series of emails that are completely free, and should give you a decent grounding to begin from.
You can Google the definition of PIP. It stands for percentage in point. As for your question regarding estimation of daily earnings, I honestly think that at this stage you don’t worry too much about that, but just concentrate on learning the basics. And definitely don’t use anything but a demo account at this stage.

Sure, it’s well worth starting with the $100 account, but it’s a bit of a stretch to expect to grow it to a couple of thousand in a short time. But if you are finished with demo trading strategy – that is, you’re convinced it is worth trading – than you could start on a $100 account and get a feel for how it performs on a real account.

So i was reading through the Bladerunner, and it interests me as it uses price action as well. The thing that i might have missed out is that S/R level is usually at round numbers, and i never thought about 20 ema as another confluence.
My question is, with the bladerunner strategy and price action in general, How many times will a price test and retest a S/R level after a breakout before it continues on trend? And how do i gain confidence on the level of retracement that i can anticipate a price to reverse back to its original trend?
I’ll try to answer some of your questions:

– Being stopped out constantly only to see price head back in your original desired direction is usually a sign of having your stop set to close. Try widening your stops. I personally wouldn’t rely on Fibonacci for this, but rather just use swing points. Always give yourself plenty of room for price to initially retrace against you, eventually you will learn how to set tighter stops without being stopped out all the time.

– This is almost impossible to tell ahead of time. Even a strong support resistance level can be broken very easily if the current sentiment moves against it. I simply don’t know anyway to predict the number of retests, and I’ve never met a trader who did.

– I’m not sure if you’re talking about entering on the retracement here? At any rate, I refer to my earlier point about being too close to the price action. Keep your risk level low, it’s better to hang on to your money and only make a small profit, than to be greedy and try to squeeze every dollar out of a move by getting your stop loss closest to the current price than it should be.

All these strategies have been shown to work – for some people least, under the right conditions and according to their own trader psychological profile – but you will need to do some work on your own in testing out to find out which one works for you the best. They all work on the five-minute timeframe, some better than others, but again it will be necessary for you to do your own research.
Have you ever used a trading robot, were you can programme it to enter into trades by spotting certain indicators and pulling out of the same trades based on other indicators or pip movement?
Hi Paul, short answer is no, I’m not aware of any such beast and have not used any.
I read about them in a book, used by an FX investor in South Africa. He keeps the pragrammed “robot” from making trades during news outbrakes and has found it to be quite successful. I think Rob Booker might even use them now.
Anyways, I’m literally just starting out and I’ve been reading a lot of investment material. Im still struggling with all the termanology really but it’s coming on slowly. I figure this isn’t something you can learn in a small space of time otherwise everyone would be doing it.
My interests lie in Forex now but started with commodities trading. I’ve been trading a demo account on plus500. I’ve found that it’s useless for back testing, and they seem to set the buy value of a currency close to previous states of support and resistance. Is this generally the case with trading platforms or Is there any other trading platforms you can recommend?
I have no experience of the broker you mention. And every broker platform can be expected to be a little different, you just have to do your due diligence. I don’t recommend any particular platform these days, although I currently use IC Markets & Pepperstone, and I’m happy with both.
I’ve opened up a demo account on the IC Markets platform. It’s much better. Although it seems obvious to me that it’s it’s for the slightly more advanced trader, or more advanced than I am so to speak. But I’ll enjoy learning whilst doing.
Once you feel as though you have a system that suits. How long would suggest testing it on a demo account before go live?

The bladerunner is basicly MA correct?

Check out the actual posts on the Bladerunner (do a search for Bladerunner, if necessary) and you’ll see that it’s a bit more than trading off moving average. But yes, certainly the trend indicator used – usually the 20 EMA or more preferably the polarity indicator – is a major part of the strategy.

I’ve seen your post (The 10 Best Forex Strategies) in “xxxxxxxxxxx” and on your top 3 is the xxxxxxx Strategy of xxxxxxxxxxxx. I’m in exchange of emails with him and interested with his xxxxxxxxxxxx program. Just doing my due diligence before finalizing my decision, my questions is if he real, legit and really exit. Does your “#3: Bolly Band Bounce Trade” above some how same of his xxxxxxxx Strategy minus his software. Appreciate your comment and advise.
I have replied separately to you via email. I have edited the pertinent details from your post, as I don’t want to give thieves like this any publicity at all. From what I can see the person you are talking about has just copied my copyrighted posts from AuthenticFX and put them up as his own website, with no acknowledgement even. If he is that dishonest, ask yourself if he be trusted with your money. I know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but outright theft is taking it too far. This is happening more and more often. Frauds and scamsters scour the Internet for good content, and publish it as their own. Hope this helps with your due diligence 🙂

Easy Forex Technical Analysis – M30 Traders Dynamic Index Forex Trading Indicator and Strategy.

English is not my first language so I will try to explain by showing it on my charts if needed.
I will try to post my trades as early as possible after I entered them if I have time to do so. Managing trades is still my hardest part where I need to master it, no where I need to master my emotion.

Q. How much prior experience do I need?

Q. Why can't I trade stocks or options and be successful?
A. You are very foolishly mistaken if you think that you can succeed in consistently profiting in the stock or options markets. TDI traders are smart and professional enough to know this. You will find that you cannot be successful trying to trade stocks or options because stocks and options do not have a lot of movement every day. As a result, you may find that you will need to stay in a stock or option for longer periods of time such as 4 or 5 days to maybe a month or even longer in your attempt to make a profit. The problem with this is that during the time that you are in your trade, there is likely to be all kinds of news events that will take place that will effect the price of what you are in and the news will come out so fast that you will not have time to react. Stocks and options are sensitive to news events and, unfortunately, there is NO indicator that will tell you what kind of news or when news will be coming out in the future that can quickly change the direction of things so, ultimately, you are in the hands of whatever news happens during the time you are in the market. In other words, you are in the hands of luck. It is not just news on your stock or option that can effect the price of it that you would have to worry about, but also news that can come out that can effect the direction of the overall market. These news events are always a surprise and you have no warning or control over them nor do you have time to react. Also, when you are in something for a longer period of time, prices may easily back up first before they go in your favor. You would not know if it is only a temporary backup or if it is going to continue going in the wrong direction so you would not know if you should stay in or get out. In our opinion, only fools attempt to make short term profits in the stock and/or option markets. At TDI, we are only in a currency trade for about 15 minutes so the chances of a news event coming out in such a short period of time is remote. We don't hold positions overnight and we don't care about news events that come out once we are out of our trade. We are in and out quick and we know exactly where we stand at the end of the day. In our opinion, it is virtually impossible to do this kind of in-and-out trading with a stock or an option and be profitable over time. Sure, you can successfully grab a profit every now and then by luck in the stock and options markets but over the long term, you will be very disappointed at your overall trading results. If you don't believe us, go ahead and learn this lesson the hard way - but don't say we didn't warn you.
Q. What makes the TDI system and methodology so unique?
A. TDI takes a very conservative approach to day trading. We do not try to chase after the big moves that currencies make on a daily basis. Rather, we look to capture small moves, and, by doing that, we are in and out of our trades in very short periods of time, usually within 15 minutes to 1/2 hour from the time we enter a trade. We look to make smaller profits on each trade and we look to be consistently successful in doing so. We have found that when one begins to get greedy with this type of trading, that is when the problems begin. Our philosophy is that if you are looking to make more money with your trading, then look to increase the amount of capital that you trade with rather than the amount of points in profit that you seek to achieve. On the currencies, we generally look to achieve a 6 point profitable price movement after we enter a trade - even though the currencies have daily swings that are usually much more than 6 points . Since the currencies that we trade pay $12.50 for every point in movement, a person can trade with a small amount of capital and still hypothetically capture a good profit without the need to go for the bigger moves. Also, in going for the smaller moves, trading can be a lot less stressful since a 6 point move can be accomplished in a very short period of time. The key is knowing precisely when to enter and when to exit a trade for that 6 point movement. That is where the TDI system plays an important role in assisting the student in analyzing these price movements. Q. Why would I want to day trade?
A. Day trading allows the trader to know exactly where he/she stands at the end of the day. There is a feeling of satisfaction that comes with successfully generating a profit in a short period of time. Since most of the trades are done in the morning hours, day trading allows for a lot of free time. Also, news events that come out after the markets are closed have no effect on day traders since we are out of the trades before the markets are closed. In fact, typically, we are out of a trade usually within 15 minutes to 1/2 hour from the time we get into it.
Q. How much capital do I need to trade?
A. Opening an account with a brokerage firm to trade is an easy process. To trade currencies, you do not need a large amount of trading capital. Typically, you will need approximately $1000.00 per currency contract to day trade. Some brokerage firms may require at least a $2000.00 minimum deposit to open an account to begin trading. Every 1 point in movement in this market is $12.50 as opposed to a stock where every 1 point in movement is only $1.00. One could easily start trading currencies with only 1 or 2 currency contracts. Of course, when trading in the markets, only risk capital should be used.
Q. What is covered in the training program?
A. Everything that you need to know in order to trade including: brokerage firms, placing orders, software indicator training, risk management, day trading rules, currencies, and the TDI trading methodology is covered in the training program. We start the program from square one and we assume that you have never had any trading experience at all. A manual is provided and all hands-on live training is held at our training center.
Q. Just what does the system do?
A. The system entails using a live data feed, which runs through your internet connection. As the market moves, the data is converted into a chart. The chart is programmed with indicators, which are calibrated to TRADING DYNAMICS' own settings and parameters. These indicators assist the student in identifying potentially profitable price movements in the currency markets, enabling the user to make intelligent and potentially hypothetically profitable decisions, thus taking a lot of the guesswork out of timing a trade. It makes no difference whether you are an old pro or just a beginner. The signals and outcome will be the same. This system is the result of many years of fine tuning.
Q. How successful is this system?
A. Currently, our system has been showing a 13 to 2 success rate in enabling us to correctly and accurately identify periods of upward and downward price movements based on hypothetical results of the methodology. Individual results can vary and past results are not an assurance of future performance. All TDI students are required to have at least an 85% success rate in correctly identifying periods of up and down price movements during their "paper trading" period before the training ends. We know of no other program with this kind of accuracy requirement and, as far as we know, this accuracy rate is unheard of anywhere else in the industry.
Q. Why are you passing the system along to other people?
A. Many people today would like to participate in today's world of high-tech day trading and would like to learn how to trade correctly, profitably, and consistently, but do not have a sense of direction as to how it should be done. Some people foolishly enroll in mass advertised fly-by-night training programs which require the purchase of useless software. They then look to identify trading opportunities using flashing lights or simple charts with no or useless indicators. These systems can allow one to profit in their trading every so often but they are simply useless as far as allowing an individual to identify profitable trading opportunities on a continuous and consistent on-going basis over the long haul. The traders at TDI enjoy getting other people involved in the excitement of professional, state-of-the-art trading. It's a lot more fun when others are in "the game" with you. We enjoy the camaraderie with our students and the feeling that goes along with helping others learn how to trade correctly.
Q. How long is the training period?
A. At TDI, the training does not end after the initial 2-day in-house training course - it just begins. Students are given permanent access to the TDI members only web site, which keeps students updated on important news. Students are also provided on-going support in that they can call our support line or e-mail us with questions during their paper trading period. This kind of hands-on support is essential to anyone just learning to understand technical analysis. You will need on-going live assistance. The continued support at TDI is another thing that differentiates us from many of the fly-by-night courses offered at hotel seminar rooms by companies located thousands of miles away where the support is offered via telephone usually by someone knowing very little about trading. Although most TDI students rarely need more than one or two months of continued on-going support, it is available to all students on an UNLIMITED continued on-going basis after the student completes the training program for as long as the student requires it.
Q. After I take the training program, is there anything else that I will have to purchase from TDI or any other advanced training that I will be asked to pay for?
A. Absolutely, positively, NONE. EVERYTHING that you will need to apply our methodology is fully covered in our training programs as well as all manuals, tools, and full on-going support. Unlike many other "mass marketed" programs that are offered which try to recommend additional "advanced" training courses and additional or "upgraded" software at additional fees a month or two after you have completed their program, the program at TDI is ALL - INCLUSIVE. ALL training and future upgrades to the program are INCLUDED with the TDI enrollment fee and there are NEVER additional fees required or recommended for any reason - EVER.
Q. Why does TDI prefer to trade the currency futures rather than the FOREX and what are the real differences between FOREX currencies and currency futures?
A. TDI prefers the futures currency markets because we are educated, smart, we know better, and our objective is to make money. In our opinion, only fools attempt to take quick profits in the forex markets and those who try find out very quickly that they have made a big mistake. There are great differences between forex and futures and you should know all of the facts before you trade. Although the TDI methodology can allow a person to easily identify price movements in the 24 hour FOREX market it is really not the best place to be trading for the best results due to the nature of the market itself and the brokerage firms that deal in these currencies. The traders at TDI are smart enough to know this and this is the reason they prefer to trade the regulated currency futures markets which are traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. There are some very valid reasons for this. First, the FOREX market is an unregulated market. Although many companies will tell you that you can trade the FOREX market and pay no commissions, they usually conveniently fail to mention that there is usually a 3 to 5 point spread (and sometimes more depending on market conditions) that you have to deal with in the FOREX market. What this means is that as soon as you enter a trade in the FOREX market you immediately and automatically lose 3-5 points right from the start. When you add a 5 point loss up it adds up to much more than a typical brokerage commission. Second, since the FOREX market is unregulated, the brokerage firm may not always get you out of a trade at the price that it shows that it is currently trading at. The trading may seem easy in a demo account but when you try going in with actual funds, you will find out reality very soon. Third, every point in profit on the FOREX market is substantially less that the $12.50 per point in profit which is fixed in the futures market and does not change. Fourth, the futures market allows for quick in-and-out opportunities - usually in and out within about 15 minutes. Not so with the FOREX market. Traders in that market find that they need to stay in the market for long periods of time. Staying in the markets for long periods of time can easily work against you because the price can start to move in the opposite direction and the trader would not know whether to get out or stay in. Also, in staying in the market for longer periods of time such as 1 or 2 hours, you are subject to news events that can come out that can quickly affect the price of the currency that you are in. By the time the news comes out, you would not have time to react. Most traders trading the futures market can do one or two trades in the morning, be in their trades for only a short period of time (approx. 15 minutes) and their day is done as far as trading goes. We have found that this is the best way to trade these markets and this conservative type of trading is almost impossible to do in the forex markets.
The fact is that the FOREX market, in our view, is really NOT the best market for day traders. It is a market where banks and financial institutions buy currencies over a longer term in order to hedge themselves against losing market value in currency positions that they hold at their institutions. It is not really a good short term trading market for individual traders because it is very sporadic, highly volatile, and fast moving. Don't be deceived, as many uneducated people are. It is easy for someone to show you a chart where there are large moves in one day in a forex currency and then tell you that "you could have bought it here and sold it here and made a huge profit on that big move". But the fact is that you would never have been able to capture that large move because there is no indicator that would have told you that it was going to make that kind of move. What you are looking at is what happened "after the fact". The fact is that, although trading in a forex account may seem easy in a demo account, trading with actual funds is completely different and we believe that you will find that trying to profit over the long term with actual funds in the forex market is almost impossible due to the nature of it. We believe that you will find that your losses will well offset your gains. This is the reason that we prefer the futures markets. We can be in and out quick and not have to deal with the sporadic volatility and spreads. Many companies that promote FOREX trading do so because they can get a kick-back from FOREX brokerage firms which they are able to do because the FOREX market, unlike the futures market, is unregulated. TDI is strictly an educational company and has no "kick-back" relationships or any other kind of relationships with any brokerage firms nor does it profit in any way, shape, or form on the trading of any individual. We feel that this would be a conflict of interest. To get a full understanding of the differences between these markets, one should visit our office for a free live demonstration and see the differences first-hand. You won't make money in the forex market over time. If you don't believe us, go ahead and try - but don't say we didn't warn you.
Q. Can currencies be traded anytime, 24 hours per day?
A. Yes. TDI students learn to trade both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange currency futures markets and the 24 hour Globex market. Although many traders find it much easier just to get up in the morning, do a few trades and get their trading out of the way, some traders like to spend more time with their trading and they enjoy trading the after hours markets as well. Also, some people don't have the time to trade during the day because of conflicting time schedules. They also look to the after hours markets for profitable trading opportunities.
Q. What Are the Risks?
A. While any form of trading in any of the markets involves risk, we teach the student how to use stop loss orders when doing trades. This is a trading strategy used for many years by professional traders. Whenever one trades in the markets, however, only risk capital should be used and a licensed financial advisor should be consulted. A very small amount of capital is required, however, in order to trade in the currency markets as compared to many other markets.
Q. What about upgrades to the system and additional ad-on fees?
A. Once the student enrolls in the training program, the student is entitled to and provided with ANY AND ALL current and future upgrades that TDI makes to the system and program at NO additional charges or fees - EVER. The enrollment fee that the student pays for the system, training, and the included on-going support is a one time fee. There are NEVER any additional or on-going fees charged to the student by TDI for any reason. This is another aspect of TDI that differentiates us from many other educational companies. At TDI, what you see is what you get - NO surprises. All upgrades are included at no additional fees.
Q. Can my spouse take the training program with me?
A. Yes. Your spouse is welcome to take the course with you at NO additional fee. We have many husband/wife teams that enjoy trading together.
Q. Can I set the program up on more than one computer?
A. Yes. You can set the program up on more than one computer but you can only be on one computer at a time with it. You should set it up on your desktop and laptop. If you travel, you can trade anywhere you can log in to the internet. Many people have wireless modems on their laptop and can trade most anywhere.
Q. What If I don't have the time to watch my computer for a trade line-up, does TDI have an ALERT SYSTEM that will notify me in advance?
A. YES. TDI offers the automated T. I.P. S. ( Traders Instant Paging System ) alert system which sends out an alert via e-mail, cell phone, pager, or PDA to students. These alerts notify the student about 15 minutes in advance as to when they should go to their computer and log on to the TDI trading program to watch for a possible trading opportunity. With the T. I.P. S. alert system, the student does not need to be glued to the computer screen watching for the signals.
A. We believe that taking a course on trading on-line or by reading a book or via telephone or e-mail or webinar will prove to be a waste of time and money for you. There are simply some things that have to be shown to you live and through personal hands-on training. This, we feel, is the only truly effective way to correctly learn how to trade. This is a price action trading strategy called the Multi-Timeframe Trading With Trendline Trading Strategy And 123 Pattern and it is a forex strategy complimentary to the trendline trading strategy and to understand the concept of what I’m about to show you here, you need to think in terms of multi-timeframe trading.
What does multi-timeframe trading mean?
It simply means that you are using using a combination of timeframes to watch for a setup and the actual trade that you take is made in the much smaller timeframe.
Now, the chart below shows a trendline trading strategy sell setup that would have fetched hundreds of profitable pips very easy.
But notice the timeframe? its in 4hr timeframe.
During that 4hr timeframe, what happened in the 15 minute timeframe or the 5 minute timeframe?

Just notice that after price hit the trendline, it went down and then try to come back up to test the trendline but point 3 never went past point 2. Therefore its a valid 123 pattern.
So how you could also have traded it would have been by using the 123 trading method.
DOES 123 PATTERN FORM ON EVERY TRENDLINE TRADING SETUP?
So why not just use trendline trading strategy and trade this types of setup?
Well, the best answer I can give you is this: sometimes if you are unsure if price will break the trendline and go up(or down), then using this trading technique will at least allow you to have a lot more confidence when the breakout happens at point 2 where you either sell or buy.
TRADING RULES-HOW TO TRADE THIS SETUP.
The charts I’ve given above makes the rules of this strategy very easy to understand:
if you are watching a trendling trading setup happening in a larger timeframe, for example, 4hr, then when price hits that trendline you switch to a much smaller timeframe to see if you can spot a 123 pattern forming. If you see the 123 pattern forming and if its a sell trade setup, you place your stop loss 1-2 pips under the low of point 2. If its a buy trade, you place a buy stop order above the high of point 2. Your stop loss will be above/below point 1. Take profit taraget can be 3 times what you risked or using previous swing highs (for buy order )or lows (for sell order).
